The former State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Communist Party Denis Voronenkov, who, at the end of the cadent, went to Ukraine, gave evidence to the fugitive ex-president of Viktor Yanukovych and received the citizenship of this country at the end of the country. Such information is reported by Ukrainian Pravda with reference to the press secretary of the National Police of Yaroslav Trakalo.
Voronenkova was shot at 11:25 local time (12:25 Moscow time), when he, accompanied by a bodyguard, left the hotel. The bodyguard opened a response shooting. Both he and the killer were injured. Both were taken to the hospital.
Shortly before 16 o’clock in Kiev, Gromadske TB reported that Voronenkov’s killer had died. According to the prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko, he was wounded in the chest, as well as right over in the head.
As the ex-deputy of the State Duma from "Fair Russia" Ilya Ponomarev, Voronenkov, was heading for a meeting with him.
It is also known that on Thursday the former deputy from the Communist Party was to testify in the main military prosecutor's office.
The deputy chief of the National Police of Ukraine arrived at the crime scene - Kiev Chief Andrei Krishchenko, Prosecutor General Lutsenko and deputy prosecutor general - chief military prosecutor Anatoly Matios.
Krishchenko said that the killer shot at Voronenkov and his bodyguard several times. Lutsenko, as the QHA transmitted , said that Voronenkov received one bullet in the neck, two in the face and one in his stomach and died on the spot. The bodyguard is wounded in the heart, but already gives evidence. The security is assigned to him.
Investigators, according to Lutsenko, seized a TT pistol and about 20 sleeves.
During the killer, the official said , Ukrainian documents were discovered, in particular, a certificate of a participant in the fighting issued by the National Guard. “But now we are checking whether these documents were genuine,” he continued. “I rarely met Killer, who took a service certificate with me. This one took.” In this regard, the Prosecutor General did not exclude the probability of a "new" Yarosh business card ", which was in place."
In addition, Lutsenko said that Ponomarev and the widow of Voronenkov, the ex -deputy of the State Duma from United Russia, Maria Maksakova, who moved to Ukraine with her husband and also received citizenship of this country, it was decided to provide state protection. The special forces of the SBU will be guarded.
Ukrinform with reference to the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Artem Shevchenko reports that the killer with a high probability had accomplices. "We can’t say how much, but there were people who helped him in the commission of a crime," said the official.
In turn, the deputy chief of the National Police is the head of the Main Investigative Department, Alexander Vakulenko, noted: "Given the identity of the deceased, among the priority versions we consider the actions of the Russian Federation aimed at destroying this person due to the fact that it gave important indications and played a key role in the processes that took place in Ukraine."
Lutsenko also called Voronenkov’s participation as a witness in Yanukovych’s participation in two priority versions. The second version, the Prosecutor General said, is connected with the case of smuggling, which, according to him, led the FSB in the patronage of Vladimir Putin. The smuggling scheme to Russia, Lutsenko explained, Voronenkov opened it when he worked in the State Directorate of Medical Control in the mid-2000s.
The press secretary of the head of the Ukrainian state Svyatoslav Tsegolko wrote on his FB page that President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with the security forces in connection with the incident. "The insidious murder in the center of Kyiv Denis Voronenkov is an act of state terrorism from Russia, which he was forced to leave for political reasons," the president said. "The obvious handwriting of the Russian special services, previously manifested in different European capitals."
“I think it is not accidental,” Poroshenko emphasized, “that the murder occurred one day with a sabotage in Balakley in the Kharkiv region .”
Meanwhile, Rain reports that Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on Voronenkov’s murder. “This is not our topic,” the official said. He also assured that Putin was reported to Putin.
Later, however, Peskov gave a more detailed comment. “We believe that any fabrications that are already sounding about the notorious Russian trace are absurd,” the RIA Novosti official reports . The murder, Putin’s press secretary said, indicates that the Ukrainian authorities could not ensure Voronenkov’s safety.
Voronenkov and Maksakova left for Ukraine back in October last year, immediately after the end of their powers, and in December they received citizenship of this country. The departure of both, however, became known only on February 14th .
It is known that Voronenkov was one of the deputies who voted for the annexation of Crimea in 2014. He himself, however, was in Kyiv, said that he did not participate in the vote. According to him, colleagues in the faction voted for him, although he did not give them a power of attorney for this.
Among Russian emigrants in Ukraine, including ATO participants, the news of the provision of Citizenship Voronenkov caused indignation. “This is a thousandth repetition of the same. The authorities do not care about us. Open, directly in the face, not trying to hide - spitting at all,” said Artem Shirobokov , who had already unsuccessfully submitted documents to receive Ukrainian citizenship twice.
On February 16, the Communist Party of the Communist Party excluded Voronenkov from its members , and United Russia - Maksakov.
A day earlier , the TFR announced the ex-deputy on the wanted list . In Russia, against Voronenkov several years ago, the case was opened under Part 3 of Article 33 - Part 1 of Article 170.1 (the organization of falsification of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities) and part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale). However, due to the presence of immunity, it was not possible to hold it liable before the end of the cadence.
On March 2, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, said that Voronenkov "reached the baseness" , having accepted Ukrainian citizenship.
The next day, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested a former deputy in absentia .
