A hopelessly late prime minister. Everyone who is not indifferent to the “Oscar” hype has long managed to watch the film by Kenneth Lonergan, who was better known as a filmmaker and who received a well -deserved figurine for the original scenario. It is difficult to imagine what else you can attract to the cinema for a film about the suffering of American plumbing with a difficult fate. There are, of course, meticulous and rare fans of a large screen who did not want to watch Manchester by the Sea on a computer monitor. But will such perfectionists turn off dubbing, without which it is unlikely to do? After all, this tape is built on the nuances of acting, which cannot be adequately reproduced in another language.
In general, the film is remarkable in its own way, but doubts around its release in Russia are the sea, moreover, the tiny American Manchester was attached to the shore.
The main advantage of “Manchester by the sea” is Casey Affleck, an amazing artist who can practically change his face in his face to cause confidence in the viewer (“Farewell, baby, goodbye”), horror (“killer inside me”) or sympathy (as here). Perhaps his Oscar is the most undeniable of all that were awarded this year; We mercifully forget about the jealous views that the metal from the hall on Affleck Jr. is the more eminent and less successful competitor Denzel Washington. All other actors of the film, even an excellent Michelle Williams, just play along with - although you are openly paying attention to the youth open here by Lonergan (Lucas Hedes, Anna Baryshnikova, grown -up Kara Hayword).
A simple straightforward plot-the story of the relationship between the uncle-Opekun, who was driven away from his native town, with his nephew-Balbes-is served with discreet dignity. Camera, installation, music - everything is in the service of an unsuccessful one and, as it does not begin immediately, a heartbreaking plot. Only flashback spoils the situation, illustrating in detail the events of the past days and completely devoid of the natural atmosphere on which the film is being built. Moreover, the accompaniment from the “Messiah” of Handel and “Adagio” Albinoni (written, as you know, not Albinoni) is also inappropriate - it would be worse without music. However, this also does not matter: even in these details, Manchester by the Sea remains an honest and touching everyday drama about small people and their incurable wounds.
For whom: for sensitive hearts.
The rarest case is a full-length animation from the DreamWorks Animation giant studio, which is not a continuation of a successful franchise or a re-leaf of a well-known plot, but offers an original, partially dumbfounding script. Therefore, you can close your eyes to scenario assumptions and stretching, on the confusion and turmoil in the second half of the cartoon and the doubtfulness of the antithesis between babies and dogs (which supposedly compete for the attention of adults). The main thing is that you have never seen this before. And they did not even read in the excellent illustrated book Marla Frazy, from which director Tom McGrat (Madagascar) and screenwriter Michael McCalens (Austin Pauers) went quite far.
A seven-year-old storyteller is dumbfounded in the house of a new tenant-a newborn brother, around whom dad and mom are dancing together. The trivial plot with childhood jealousy instantly accepts the size of the phantasmagoria: the baby not only behaves in the house as the owner, but goes with a diplomat and wears a business suit (under which the diaper is hidden). Parents are not aware that he is also talking in a bass voice - oh, what a pity that in Russia no one will hear Alek Baldwin in this role! - And in general, he went down from the heavenly office, which supplies the children to Earth. Clear business, adult information about where the children come from, invented exactly there, for conspiracy.
This beautiful plot is complete without unnecessary Susyukkah, but on the contrary, it is mocking the Susykan. Alas, he is also in the semblance of a criminal intrigue - the children are concerned about the birth of a “eternal puppy” model, which does not grow up and therefore is provided with lifelong sympathies of all dads and mothers of the universe; A cheerful running around begins, for some reason transferred to Las Vegas. However, there are enough witty - often rude - jokes and dynamic scenes served with the proprietary Dreamworks charm.
In general, certainly bring children. Especially if they have senior or younger brothers and sisters.
For whom: for large families.
Consider this warm -up in front of the film "Alien: Testament" Ridley Scott, expected by mid -May. The Swede of Chilean descent Daniel Espinos removed the Cosmopolitan Hollywood horror, who simultaneously looks like an original “stranger” (I do not want to experience the ugly word “plagiarism”) and gives a passionate desire for revisionist rethinking of the original source. The plot is very similar: life was found on Mars, and unreasonably optimistic researchers took it aboard to bring it to our planet. In flight, at first, a tiny miracle-yudo begins to increase in size and show its true intentions. Then guess yourself. At least by trailer.
Espinosa, known in Russia, is mainly a terrifying cardboard anti -Stalinist thriller “Number 44” (it was prohibited - and in vain, there was something to laugh there), feels much more confident in the claustoprophic atmosphere of the spaceship. Almost the entire film his heroes are in a state of zero gravity, which favorably emphasizes the swellness of their position. It is especially pleasant that in the international team there was a place for the Russian actress: next to Jake Jillenhall Hollom, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson and Japanese Hiroyuki Sanada is very worthy (and spectacular, what is it already there) Olga Dykhovichny looks. So the cosmos, where the Russians were not allowed either in Interstellar or in the Martian, again, again, ours.
The development of the action is the farther, the more sins a variety of cliches. And most importantly - the monster turned out to be uninteresting, similar to everything at once, except, except perhaps, the original alien. The behavior of astronauts, as if deliberately climbing into his mouth, causes a natural reaction of irritation: what do they do not watch films? I would have been in his place ... on the other hand, who knows how you will behave, finding himself in a similar stupid position: I thought that I found life on Mars, but it turned out to be death.
For whom: for lovers of cosmic horror films.
A very funny and delusional mockmentation made by a beautiful directorial duet - Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, with each next film (“Hadak”, “Fifth Time of the Year”) inventing their style again. In this case, we have a low -budget comedy about the collapse of the United Europe - an extremely relevant film that would be even alarming if they would not be so frankly and intentionally frivolous.
The king of Belgium Nicolas III (Peter Van Den Begin) arrived on an official visit to Istanbul. During the inspection of the miniaturk park, he receives alarming news: the Wallnesses rebelled and leave the state. Belgium no longer exists, and he urgently needs to go home to Brussels - otherwise who will retain the territorial integrity? As luck would have it, a geomagnetic storm was played out, all flights are canceled, and the Security Service of the President of Turkey is lute, without releasing the ill -fated monarch. Then he changes into someone else's clothes and with a small retinue-the head of the protocol service, a press secretary and a civilian-domesticist who shoots the film a film-goes on a distant path, illegally and incognito crossing one border after another.
The film is not only about the comic nature of the institute of the monarchy these days and modern separatism, but also about the confusion of weak -willed European civilization before the chaos of all fronts on all fronts. An instructive sight, but above all - very funny.
For whom: for those who are worried about the next sunset of Europe.
