According to the company’s message, soon the new function will become available to all users of the Maps application for Android and iOS. To use it, you will need to open the application menu or touch the blue point on the map, and then choose the option "show where I am." At the same time, users will be able to clarify to whom and how information about their location will be available. So, these data can be opened for people from the list of contacts or send the link to the necessary addressees using the messenger.

As a result, those gaining access will see where the user is located, and a notice of the location of the location of other people will be displayed above the compass icon in the application. You can disable this function at any time.

The new function will also be available in navigation mode, which will allow the chosen friends to see the user route in real time. To activate it, it will be necessary to touch the menu icon in the lower part of the navigation screen and select the "Share the trip" option. When the user reaches its destination, the route display will be automatically disconnected.

The company also clarified that those who have gained access to the location and route will be able to see it not only in the application, but also in the mobile and desktop browser.
