Lavrov announced the absence of prospects for the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine

In Moscow, at present, they do not see the prospects for resolving a crisis in the east of Ukraine and fulfilling the terms of a peace agreement concluded in Minsk (the so-called Minsk-2), said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The prospects of settlement, the implementation of the Minsk agreements for now, to be honest, are not visible," said Lavrov, speaking at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces (quote for TASS).

The diplomat assigned the responsibility for the current situation on the Ukrainian side. According to him, Kyiv does not have a "political will" and "a realistic vision of the future of his country."

Because of this, according to Lavrov, the Ukrainian authorities are trying to look for ways to solve problems "not on the basis of pragmatic interests in the name of national consent and prosperity, but on the order of external sponsors who are alien to the aspirations of Russians and Ukrainians."
