The Ministry of Justice suspended the activities of the Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, adding it to the list of organizations suspected of carrying out extremist activities. This was reported on the website of the department.
On March 15, the Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court to recognize the association as extremist and liquidate it. The ministry believes that the organization violates "statutory goals and objectives, as well as current legislation." The due date for the application has been set for April 5.
Previously, organizations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Karachay-Cherkessia , Birobidzhan , Orel , Abinsk , Stary Oskol , Samara , Taganrog and Belgorod were recognized as extremist . In addition, some books and brochures of the organization have been included in the federal register of extremist materials .
