According to the police representative, the pedestrians managed to escape. The driver of the car was detained by the military. Details about him are not reported. It is known that the car on which he tried to run into pedestrians was registered in France. A weapon was found in it.

A day earlier in London, a car shot down several pedestrians at the Vestminster bridge near the UK parliament building. Then the driver attacked a policeman on duty in front of parliament. According to police, three people were killed, including a policeman, about 40 were injured. The police said that the same person made both attacks.
Responsibility for the attack was taken by the Islamic State terrorist group (prohibited in Russia).
