Fortov’s powers should have expired on March 27. The general meeting of the choice of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be held in November. Until that time, Forters had to occupy their post. He himself was against the extension of his powers, but academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences voted for this decision.
Fortov told reporters that the Academy lost its institutions and funding allocated to them, and called the bureaucratization of science for science workers.
