Fire in military warehouses in the city of Balakley is completely extinguished

A fire in military warehouses in the city of Balakley of the Kharkov region is completely extinguished, said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Igor Pavlovsky. Currently, the authorities are trying to evaluate the damage caused by fire.

The fire in military warehouses began on the night of Thursday, March 23, later began to detonate explosives. Several people were injured , under the rubble the body of a woman was found. Rescue services evacuated about 20 thousand people from Balaklia.

The authorities of Ukraine consider several versions of what happened, including sabotage. Investigators do not exclude that an explosive device was dropped into warehouses from the drone.

Arsenal in Balakley is the largest weapons warehouse in Ukraine. Its area is about 370 hectares. Almost 140 thousand tons of ammunition and cartridges for small and artillery weapons are stored there.
