The court placed Kirill Matyavin, the organizer of the anti-corruption rally “He’s not Dimon for you” in Saransk, under administrative arrest for 10 days, according to the event group on VKontakte.
The court found the activist guilty under Article 6.1.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (beatings). According to Saransk activists, the magistrate’s court made its decision late in the evening of March 24.
Matyavin was detained on March 23 after a provocation: a girl approached him and asked where the pharmacy was, and then began screaming that she had been hit. Later, she also accused the activist of swearing at her.
As reported by Stolitsa S, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Saransk also fined Matyavin one thousand rubles under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code (petty hooliganism). Previously, the Saransk administration refused to allow activists to approve a rally on March 26.
