In the city of Asbest, the Sverdlovsk region on Saturday, a large -scale rally of citizens was held against the construction of a factory for the processing of antimony concentrates in the municipality. According to protesters on social networks, about 2,000 people came with the city’s population about 65 thousand. According to Znak.com , the Surma processing plant in the vicinity of the city wants to build a national antimony company affiliated with Igor Rotenberg.
According to Znak.com, the organizer of the rally, deputy of the Duma of Asbest, Natalya Krylova, the participants in the action offered the Rotenberg on "their steamboats" to sail from the country. Officials of different levels were offered to travel on their expensive cars on Asbesto roads and treat in local hospitals. The audience demanded the resignation of the authorities.
Krylova indicates that the ecological situation worsened even after the construction of a nominally clean production - the FORS plant for the production of ceramic blankets of oil wells: "As a result, the entire quarter is suffocated, although they are normal according to the documents. Therefore, there is no Surny Plant."
MP Yevgeny Shabanov, who called for a rally, emphasized that when cleansing the antimony, many carcinogens are released: “Soon we will be able to inhale iron oxide, manganese, dinatri carbonate, lead, sulfide of antimony, trekhokhis, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfuric acid, dioxide, dioxide compounds, dioxide sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, gaseous fluorides, benzpiren, gasoline, kerosene, maximum hydrocarbons, emulsol and much more. "
During the protest campaign, 500 signatures were collected against the construction of a Surmyan plant in Asbest.
Initially, the processing plant was planned to be created in Degtyarsk, on the banks of the Ilchevka River, which flows into the Volchikhinsky reservoir, which is a drinking source of Yekaterinburg. Work on this has been going on since 2012. However, local environmentalists and social activists have seriously resisted this work, collecting protest rallies, participating in public hearings and other conciliation procedures. At public hearings, the project deviated three times. At the end of last year, the NSC abandoned the idea of creating production in Degtyarsk.
