The Russian national team defeated the Swedish team in the semifinal match of the World Cup, which takes place in Beijing, and first in history reached the final.
The meeting, held on Saturday, ended with the victory of the Russian team with a score of 9: 3. Anna Sidorova (SKIP), Margarita Fomina, Alexander Raeva and Alina Kovaleva played for the Russian national team.
“I still can’t believe it,” Sidorov told reporters. “I am very proud that we will now represent Russia in the final. Only a year remains before the Olympics, so we needed this victory to believe in myself. I am proud of the current performance of my team.”
On Sunday, in the final, our girls will play against the Canadian team, which had previously lost twice at the tournament (9:10, 3: 7), and the Swedes in the bronze match will meet with the Scots.
The current world championship is pre-Olympic and is included in the qualification system for games-2018. Russians, bronze medalists of the last three world championships, have already been selected to the Olympics in Pyeongchang.
