On March 26, large -scale opposition rallies were held throughout Russia. More than 60 thousand people in 82 cities entered the street. The reason for the performances was the film of the Fund for the fight against corruption "He is not a dimon to you." The film claimed that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev owns elite real estate and yachts, which are formally recorded on charitable organizations.
The Moscow authorities did not agree on a protest action, after which the founder of the FBK Alexei Navalny urged the supporters to “go for a walk” to the central streets of Moscow. At least eight thousand people participated in the procession in Tverskaya; Protesters claim that there were much more people.
At first, the action took place without clashes, but by the middle of the day mass detentions began, riot police used batons. Human rights activists report that by evening at least 850 people were taken to various police branches.
The Moscow City Hall believes that law enforcement agencies acted strictly according to the regulations. The head of the regional security department, Vladimir Chernikov, said that "the police proved to be impeccably."
