Meanwhile, as Vesnin reports , 25 protesting truck drivers were detained in Surgut, four in Krasnodar, and two in Tula. The coordinator of truckers in Novorossiysk was previously sentenced to ten days of arrest.

On March 27, truckers in different regions of Russia began an open-ended protest, demanding the abolition of the Platon system. They also advocate the abolition of the transport tax, since they already pay tax in the form of excise tax in the payment for fuel.
