In the Moscow region of Korolev, the Investigative Committee began a pre-investigation check into information about the beating and robbery of 87-year-old rocket scientist Valeria Shtanko. this TASS reports with reference to the Moscow region department of the Investigative Committee.

According to the Investigative Committee, information about the brutal beating of Shtanko, from whom unknown persons also stole a large sum of money, appeared on March 27. As TASS reports, citing other media, unknown persons entered the scientist’s apartment, beat her and took away her savings: a few days ago she received a deposit of about 200 thousand rubles.

A source from the RIAMO in Korolev publication at the Royal City Hospital clarified that the scientist was hospitalized on Saturday, March 25. According to him, Shtanko is now in the trauma department with beatings and bruises. The publication’s interlocutor clarified that the pensioner’s condition is satisfactory and her life is not in danger.
