Trump rescinds Obama's global warming orders

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order reversing a number of decisions by the Obama administration to combat global warming.

The decree, in particular, lifts the moratorium on the development of new coal deposits on federal lands. It also includes a revision of the 2015 Clean Power Plan, which called for lower carbon emissions (which was suspended by the Supreme Court in 2016).

Trump also rescinded Obama's executive order declaring climate change a national security threat. In total, the new decree cancels at least six of the previous president's initiatives, reported . CNN

Representatives of the current US administration explained the adoption of the decree by the need to preserve jobs in the energy sector.

“That’s what all this is for: to return our jobs, our dreams and make America rich again,” Trump said during the signing of the executive order.
