The Ministry of Culture of Belarus liberated members of the Union of Belarusian writers (SBP) from the so -called “Tuneus tax”, returning the SBP the status of a creative union.
“The Union of Belarusian writers is included in the list of creative unions of Belarus,” the Interfax quoted the SBP message.
In the list of creative unions, published on February 19 an application to the resolution of the Ministry, SBP was absent.
“According to the resolution, the members of the Union, who were in creative work, were automatically included in the number of“ darmoists ”and had to pay the appropriate tax,” the SBP noted.
According to the Union, the resolution of the Ministry of Culture is a reaction to the statements and appeals of the SBP with a demand to revise the decision and return the SBP to the status of a creative union.
Earlier, the SBP, the Belarusian Association of Journalists and the Belarusian Pen-Center turned to the Ministry of Culture with a request to explain why these and other organizations, whose members are engaged in creative activities, were not included in the list of creative unions.
