The Investigative Committee is checking the circumstances [of Roskomnadzor] of a convict born in 1989 in a colony near Murmansk, according to the department’s website. The name of the deceased is Maxim Glavatskikh; in 2010, he was convicted of murdering a schoolgirl, whom he dismembered and ate, reports SeverPost, citing a representative of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.

According to the Investigative Committee, the prisoner committed [Roskomnadzor] on the night of March 24-25 in the premises of a school located on the territory of correctional colony No. 17 in the Murmansk region. During the inspection of the crime scene, no signs of the man’s criminal death were found, and suicide notes were also found there.

In May 2010, a court in St. Petersburg sentenced 20-year-old Maxim Glavatskikh and Yuri Mozhnov in the case of the murder of 16-year-old Karina Buduchyan: they were sentenced to 19 and 18 years in a maximum security colony, respectively.

The court found that on January 19, 2009, they drowned the schoolgirl in the bathtub, dismembered her body, baked it in the oven with potatoes and onions and ate it. The court recognized that young people who considered themselves to be members of the Goth subculture deliberately committed the murder, having thought through its scenario in advance, Gazeta.ru reported .
