In Novosibirsk, a flower seller used pruning shears to fight off a robber with a “rose”

The Novosibirsk police opened a criminal case of robbery against a local resident who attacked a seller in a flower shop, armed with a broken bottle (Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code). This was reported on the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novosibirsk Region.

The incident occurred on March 28 at about 08:30 in a flower salon near the Gagarinskaya metro station in Novosibirsk. The man, threatening with a broken bottle, demanded that the seller give him the money. The woman fought back the robber, defending herself with pruning shears. The man fled and she reported the incident to the police.

Later, criminal investigation officers found out that a 30-year-old drug addict resident of Novosibirsk, previously convicted under Article 228 of the Criminal Code, was involved in the attempted robbery of the flower shop. The man was detained. A broken bottle was recovered from the crime scene, from which fingerprints were taken, as well as a video recording of the attacker's actions. The police are now investigating whether the detainee was involved in other crimes.
