The Investigative Committee completed the investigation into the case of ex-governor Belykh

The Investigative Committee announced the completion of the investigation into the criminal case of the former governor of the Kirov region Nikita Belykh, who is accused of receiving a bribe in the amount of 600 thousand euros (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). This is reported on the UK website.

According to investigators, from 2012 to 2016, Belykh received bribes on an especially large scale totaling 600 thousand euros for “performing actions in favor of the bribe-giver and JSC Novovyatsky Ski Plant and LLC Forestry Management Company controlled by him.” He was detained while receiving money treated with a special agent in one of the Moscow restaurants.

A criminal case was opened against Belykh on June 24, 2016, and the next day the Basmanny District Court of Moscow authorized his arrest. At the meeting, Belykh insisted on his innocence.

Five days after his arrest, on June 29, Belykh went on a hunger strike to protest the charges against him. Later, he resumed his head several more times, continuing to insist on his innocence.

On March 22, 2017, it became known that on March 9, was opened another bribery case against Belykh. The cases were combined into one proceeding.
