Employees of Rosselkhoznadzor, during joint raids with the FSB authorities on the markets of Krasnodar on March 28 of this year, identified 4 facts of sales of products prohibited for import into the territory of the Russian Federation with a total weight of 5416 kg.
In total, 4,480 kg of tomatoes and cherry tomatoes from Turkey were discovered, as well as 936 kg of Belgian pears.
All of the above sanctioned products were confiscated and destroyed.
In accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated July 29, 2015 No. 391 “On certain special economic measures applied to ensure the security of the Russian Federation,” a batch of fresh pears from Belgium was crushed by a bulldozer at a specialized solid waste site.
The press service of the department noted that a quarantine object for the Russian Federation, Western flower (California) thrips, was detected in tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, so the Turkish tomatoes were burned.
