150 years ago, on March 30, 1867, a Russian-American treaty was signed in Washington, according to which the United States acquired Alaska from Russia with the Aleutian Islands and other possessions in North America (with a total area of ​​1,518,800 sq. km) for 7.2 million dollars . At the time of the sale, the population of all Russian Alaska and the Aleutian Islands was about 2,500 Russians and approximately 60,000 Indians and Eskimos.
