Today, March 30, the justice of the peace of court district No. 34 in the city of Gryazovets, Vologda Oblast, sentenced the mother of civil activist Yevgeny Domozhirov, Galina Aleksandrova, to a fine of six thousand rubles, finding her guilty of publicly insulting a police officer (under Article 319 of the Criminal Code). Vitaly Cherkasov, the lawyer of the convict, announced this, noting that he was going to appeal the verdict.
Late in the evening of July 30, a group of law enforcement officers arrived at Domozhirov's house and tried to search it. The elderly mother of the politician blocked their way, demanding to show the necessary documents, but the police tried to force their way inside. As a result, Alexandrova injured her hand. Alexandrova, together with her son, turned to the district police officer about this, who promised to come and examine the bruises on the woman’s arm, but never came .
On August 9, 2016, the investigator for particularly important cases of the first department for the investigation of especially important cases of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Vologda Region opened a criminal case against Domozhirov's mother under Article 319 of the Criminal Code. According to the investigator, during an unsuccessful search attempt, Domozhirova “deliberately for the purpose of insulting” the police officers “began to publicly use foul language” against them, “insulting them as representatives of the authorities and humiliating their honor and dignity.”
In the conclusion of the expert of the Ministry of Justice, Alena Krasikova, it is noted that the words of Galina Aleksandrova “Fuck you…” contain signs of humiliation. In court, the expert explained that the phrase negatively assesses the personality of a police officer, which indicates the severity of a negative attitude towards him, superiority over him, and a decrease in his social status.
