Evgeny Yevtushenko died

The poet Evgeny Yevtushenko died in the USA. This was reported by TASS with reference to his friend Mikhail Morgulis.

Yevtushenko was 84 years old. The day before it became known that he was in a hospital in serious condition.

A few minutes before the publication of the news of the death of Yevtushenko, TASS said that the poet is “in extreme serious condition”, but “in full consciousness”.

According to TASS, Evgeny Yevtushenko asked to bury him in Peredelkino, "not far from the grave of Pasternak."

• Evgeny Yevtushenko was born in 1933 in the Irkutsk region. He studied at the Literary Institute in Moscow, in 1952 he published the first collection of poems and became the youngest member of the Writers' Union.
