The government did not support the idea of ​​banning hypermarkets from opening at night

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich said that he opposed the proposal of Senator Sergei Lisovsky to ban hypermarkets from working around the clock.

“I am for people to be comfortable. <...> If it is convenient for people to have a store open around the clock, it is better that it be open around the clock, ”Interfax quotes Dvorkovich.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation also spoke out against Lisovsky's proposal. According to Deputy Minister Viktor Yevtukhov, the department is “very wary of the idea of ​​a legislative ban on the operation of large stores at night and on weekends” and believes that “it is necessary not to impose bans and restrictions on large retail chains, but to develop small trade formats in every possible way”, reports "Interfax".

• Amendments to the law "On Trade", which provide for a ban on the work of hypermarkets at night and on Sunday, were proposed by Senator Sergei Lisovsky. Such a measure, according to him, will support small trade enterprises (shops with one or two cash registers).
• Lisovsky said that State Duma deputy Irina Yarovaya also worked on the bill, but she said that she had nothing to do with the initiative.
