The Russian government has indexed the pensions of the population. From April 1, social pensions will be increased by 1.5%, insurance pensions for all non-working pensioners - by 0.38%, reports . Interfax
According to the agency, the average social pension in the country will now be 8,774 rubles, the average social pension for disabled children is 13,026 rubles.
The increase in pensions for non-working pensioners by 0.38% is due to the fact that the forecast inflation in 2016 turned out to be just 0.38% higher than the actual one, Interfax specifies.
Recall that since February 1, the pensions of non-working pensioners by order of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev were indexed and increased by 5.4%.
It was also reported that the Ministry of Labor is preparing a normative act, which assumes from April 1, 2017 to carry out another post-indexation of pensions.
At the end of 2016, the government decided not to carry out the usual indexation of pensions, but to replace it with a lump sum payment in the amount of five thousand rubles, which pensioners received in January 2017. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding law.
According to the Ministry of Labor, on January 10, 2017, four million pensioners received a payment of five thousand rubles.
