Evgeny Yevtushenko died

The poet Evgeny Yevtushenko died in the United States at the 85th year of his life. This was announced by his friend Mikhail Morgulis.

According to him, Yevtushenko asked him to bury him in the village of Peredelkino, next to Boris Pasternak.

Morgulis also clarified that Yevtushenko died of cancer.

“He had cancer in an irreversible form. After studying the tests, the doctors gave him three months of life, but he lived for less than a month, ”he said.

The poet was hospitalized on March 31 in serious condition.

Yevtushenko was born in 1932 in the Irkutsk region. He became the author of more than 150 books, many of which were translated into different languages. In 1963, Yevtushenko was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature, since 1991 he lived in the United States.
