The Russian Post has several development options, said Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich. It is reported by TASS.

“The future of the“ Russian Post ”is not yet clear, there are forces, there are options which direction to go. It is possible that it will become another retail network, or maybe it will become something else, maybe it will become a financial infrastructure, ”said Dvorkovich.

He added that in terms of the number of employees and departments, the Russian Post is ahead of the largest retail chains.

As TASS recalls, state -owned companies also provide financial services: the “Mail Bank”, created with VTB, operates in its departments.

In early March, it was reported that the Russian Post will launch a pilot project to deliver food. They will be distributed through catalogs for the post offices. The partner will be one of the large retail chains that will be engaged in collecting, packaging and transferring the order to logistics.
