SpaceX announced the launch of a superheavy rocket with repeated use

SpaceX is going to test the super-heavy Falcon Heavy launch vehicle in late summer 2017. This was announced by the head of the company Ilon Musk on his Twitter.

Musk noted that SpaceX will try to return the upper step of the rocket for re -use after a demonstration flight.

“The chances of success are small, but perhaps it is worth it,” he wrote.

Falcon Heavy has been in development since 2011. The rocket will be able to deliver 54 tons of cargo and 13.6 tons to a low near -earth orbit - to Mars. SpaceX is going to use it, including to send tourists into space.

Earlier on March 30, SpaceX first launched the Falcon 9 launch vehicle with the first step already used. After launch, this step again successfully landed on the floating platform in the Atlantic Ocean. Elon Musk called this event "a revolution in space flights."
