The victims of the explosion were promptly taken away by ambulance and helicopters. According to the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, who arrived at the scene of the explosion and talked for several minutes with journalists who suffered about 20 people.

A spontaneous action began: citizens carried flowers to the “Spasskaya” station closest from the “Sennaya Square”. At 18:30, the first flowers and soft toys appeared at the "Hay Square"; At eight in the evening - at the Technological Institute.
