Acting head of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov expects to develop tourism in the SEZ "Baikal Harbor" at the expense of tour operators from China. An investor from China has already begun construction of a tourist complex on the territory of the zone.

Alexey Tsydenov met with the management of the Chinese company "Tianyi" and the resident of the SEZ "Baikalskaya Gavan" LLC "Interra". The companies are jointly engaged in the creation of a tourist complex, which includes a cafe, a parking lot and a universal concert venue.

The administration of the Pribaikalsky district has already issued a building permit, and construction and installation work has begun. In 2017, it is planned to conclude a final investment agreement with Tianyi, continue the construction of the restaurant building, and begin preparations for passing construction and environmental reviews.

At the second stage, it is planned to build a hotel complex (30-40 rooms) and 10 apart-hotels with outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a pier for boats, and entertainment infrastructure.

Negotiations are currently underway on the formation of a tourist product for Chinese tourists in the SEZ within the framework of joint investment projects.

Now we are setting ourselves a serious task - to restart the project of the Baikalskaya Gavan special economic zone.

Tsydenov noted that the federal status of "Baikal Harbor" is preserved, an agreement will be signed with the Russian government on the transfer of powers to the level of the republic. “We are starting to work actively with residents. The state has fulfilled its obligations on two sections of the economic zone, and the residents have all the conditions for the implementation of their investment projects,” the official said. — We are interested in the arrival of Chinese investors. He noted that the "Baikal Harbor" is designed for the flow of tourists from China, as well as for domestic tourism. Today, in order to increase the investment attractiveness and economic efficiency of all projects in Buryatia, a whole range of issues is being addressed, including the reduction of energy tariffs. The runway at the airport is being reconstructed to accommodate all types of aircraft. A Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation was issued, providing for subsidizing from the federal budget the cost of air tickets for planes from other Russian cities.

Feng Qizhou noted that "cooperation is entering a real stage." “The potential of Baikal is huge, but it has not yet been discovered. I hope that the success of our project will stimulate other investors. For our part, we will make every effort to make Baikal a tourist Mecca,” the representative of the Chinese company promised.

Alexey Tsydenov supported the investor's proposal to open a representative office of the Great Silk Road travel association in Ulan-Ude to develop bilateral cultural and economic ties. Also during the meeting, the possibility of launching a flight between Lanzhou and Ulan-Ude was discussed. “To do this, you need to register a new route between China and Russia. We'll take care of it. I am sure that everything will work out together,” Alexey Tsydenov summed up.

Tianyi Commercial and Industrial Company (China, Gansu Province, Lanzhou City) with an authorized capital of 50 million US dollars, consists of Tianyi Industrial and Production Company LLC (Zhuhei City), Tianyi Development Company LLC (Gansu Province) ) and other related businesses.
