LiveJournal users are prohibited from posting “political propaganda”

In the new user agreement of the LiveJournal blogging platform, clause 9.2.7 has appeared, prohibiting users from “placing advertising and/or political campaigning, unless otherwise specifically established by a separate agreement between the user and the administration.”

The editors of LiveJournal announced a new agreement, assuring that there have been no fundamental changes in the service’s policy “in terms of blogging, as well as the privacy and security of user data.”

“Live Journal”, in terms of blogging, came under the control of the Russian company “Sup Media,” LJ noted.

“The decision is based on the desire to become closer to users, most of whom live in Europe and Russia,” the company assured.

The editor-in-chief of Live Journal, Alexey Korolev, at the time of publication of the news, did not answer Mediazona about how exactly the editors define “political agitation” and what are the terms of individual agreements between users and the administration mentioned in clause 9.2.7.
