Fontanka: Senator Vadim Tyulpanov died after slipping in a bathhouse

Member of the Federation Council Vadim Tyulpanov died in St. Petersburg, reports Fontanka . As the publication writes, the death is “presumably of a domestic nature.”

According to Fontanka, an ambulance for Vadim Tyulpanov was called on the evening of April 4 to “a public institution in the Kirovsky district.” According to preliminary information, he slipped unsuccessfully and hit his head. Later the publication clarified that the accident occurred in the bathhouse.

The speaker of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, Vyacheslav Makarov, and the leadership of law enforcement agencies of St. Petersburg went to the site, the publication notes.

Tyulpanov was 52 years old. From 2003 to 2011, Tyulpanov headed the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.

Vadim Tyulpanov headed the St. Petersburg Legislative Council from 2003 to 2011. In 2011, he was elected to the Federation Council from St. Petersburg. In the Federation Council of the last convocation he represented the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
