The ex-head of Udmurtia was accused of receiving a bribe of more than 130 million rubles

The Investigative Committee brought charges against the former head of Udmurtia, Alexander Solovyov, under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code (receipt of a bribe by an official holding a public position on an especially large scale).

According to the Investigative Committee, according to the investigation, in 2014–2016, Solovyov received 139 million rubles from companies involved in the construction of bridges across the Kama and Bui rivers, for which he promised to “provide extraordinary and immediate payment for the work performed from the federal and regional budgets, as well as the allocation of licenses.” for geological study of the subsoil area and for exploration, as well as extraction of sand and sand-gravel mixture.”

It is noted that he received most of the bribe in money, and 2.7 million rubles in the form of a share in the company.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin fired Solovyov with the wording “due to loss of trust.”

According to Interfax, Solovyov was detained in a case in which his namesake, the deputy minister of transport and road construction of the region, was initially suspected; he was accused of mediation in bribery.
