Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree to reduce the cost of living, according to the official legal information portal.
According to the document, in the fourth quarter of 2016, the cost of living in Russia as a whole was set at 9,691 rubles per capita.
Now the cost of living for the working population is 10,466 rubles, for pensioners - 8 thousand rubles, for children - 9,434 rubles.
The cost of living for the third quarter of 2016 was 10,678 rubles, 8,136 rubles and 9,668 rubles, respectively.
The cost of living is used to calculate the minimum wage, minimum old-age pension, scholarships, benefits and other social benefits established at the federal level.
