In the Krasnodar Territory, 32-year-old Sergei Mukhin died in February 2017, who was beaten in early 2016 during a sparring session when joining the local OMON unit. this Mukhin's relatives reported to Region Online .
According to them, at the beginning of 2016, Mukhin passed the standards for joining the riot police and took part in three battles with active members of the unit. He knocked out one of his sparring partners and broke the leg of another.
Next he had to pass the track, but even before the exam, Mukhin was called to a new sparring session, where he was pitted against an opponent who significantly outweighed him. During the fight, Mukhin fell, but his opponent continued to hit him on the head.
An unconscious Mukhin was hospitalized and taken to a hospital in Krasnodar, where he was diagnosed with a fractured skull and cerebral edema. The candidate for service in the riot police underwent several operations and spent two months in a coma. He was discharged, but in February 2017, due to complications, he was again hospitalized and then died.
The publication notes that after the fight, the police conducted an investigation, but found no grounds to initiate a case.
Representatives of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory told TASS that an investigation into the incident is being carried out.
