In Khakassia, a child died after being refused hospitalization in Sorsk. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article “Causing death by negligence due to improper performance by a person of his professional duties.”
According to investigators, on the evening of March 21, the girl’s health condition worsened when she was staying with her grandmother. She was taken to Sorsk city hospital with suspected rotavirus infection. But the girl was denied hospitalization due to the fact that the hospital did not have an infectious diseases department. The parents had to take the child to Chernogorsk, where they called an ambulance. On March 22, the girl died in an ambulance.
A similar incidentoccurred in February in Moscow. Doctors refused to admit a five-year-old boy with rotavirus infection to the hospital because they found no reason for this. The child died at home due to a complication that developed due to an infection.
In the Moscow region, a hospitalrefused to admit a mother with a sick two-month-old baby and sent them home due to quarantine. The girl died in the ambulance.
Last fall in Smolensk, an 11-year-old schoolgirl died of peritonitis due to a late diagnosis and the surgeon’s refusal to hospitalize her.
