The Aviastroitelny District Court of Kazan found Ilya Novikov, coordinator of the Open Russia movement in Tatarstan, guilty under part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a participant in a public event of the established procedure for holding a rally) for participating in an anti-corruption rally on March 26. He was assigned 30 hours of compulsory work. About this writes the portal “Idel. Realities".
The police report noted that Novikov "took an active part" in the rally and "delivered a lengthy speech in the presence of a large crowd of people." It also indicated that the activist shouted anti-government slogans: “The authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan are mired in corruption” and “Tatfondbank collapsed with the connivance of the authorities.”
