The Investigative Committee announced the detention of a suspect in calls for mass riots

A suspect was detained in Moscow for calling for mass riots on April 2. This was reported on the website of the Investigative Committee.

“Despite the particular complexity of the investigation due to the fact that the crime was committed using high-tech tools in the field of computer technology, investigators of the Main Directorate together with employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Moscow quickly identified and detained a man born in 1992, suspected of committing this crime "- reported on the department's website.

According to investigators, he “using special software designed to hide traces of his presence on the Internet, namely using servers located on the territory of foreign states,” allegedly posted materials “calling for unrest” in the center of Moscow.

During searches at the suspect’s place of residence, “numerous computer equipment and electronic devices” were seized. Currently, the investigation has ordered examinations, and it is also planned to resolve the issue of a preventive measure in the near future.

Earlier, on April 1, information appeared that Moscow investigators had opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code about calls for mass riots in the capital, which appeared on the Internet on March 29.
