Adobe showed off a feature to fix bad selfies

A typical photograph can be turned into a nice portrait.

Adobe's artificial intelligence and machine learning division showed a demo of its new selfie enhancement feature.

The video shows a man taking bad and awkward selfies and then improving them with a new feature. It adds depth of field, corrects perspective, and changes the angle of the photo. The man demonstrates that if you want, you can copy the style from any other portrait shot. After the manipulations, selfies become much better than before.

The company did not specify when the new features will become available.

In late March, researchers from Adobe and Cornell University detailed how the Photo Style Copy feature works in a paper called "Deep Photo Style Transfer." According to scientists, everything works more than just “applying styles on Instagram,” as researchers use neural networks in the process of processing images. All developments are published on GitHub as an open-source project.
