
In the annexed Sevastopol, the local Ukrainian activist Igor Movenko was charged under part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of Russia (public calls for extremism via the Internet). This was announced on Thursday by the Crimean human rights group.
The 39-year-old activist faces up to five years in the colony. He is under the subscription about the loss.
The reason for initiating the case was a comment placed in the summer of 2016 in the VK group "Crimea - Ukraine" (in Russia and annexed Crimea, it was blocked; available through anonymizers). The human rights activists do not cite a link to the recording or its text, indicating only that the commentary "expressed the pro -Ukrainian position" of the "activist.
On December 16, 2016, Movenko was detained at work by FSB operatives . A few hours later, the security forces brought him home and searched there. Wife, Valentina Movenko, the activist said that after the detention he was beaten and demanded to admit extremism, threatening to send it to the pre -trial detention center.
The search was carried out by the family by security forces in the presence of two witnesses. Visiters seized a laptop, a stationary computer, a mobile phone of Movenko, a SIM card and packaging of the starting package of a mobile operator. Also, the security forces were interested in the flags of Ukraine hanging in the apartment.
At the end of the search, Movenko was taken to the Goroddel of the FSB. One of the security forces confirmed the activist’s wife that if he does not plead guilty, he would be sent to a pre -trial detention center, and if he admits, he would be placed under house arrest or released under subscription.
The next day, Movenko was released . He said to human rights activists that he did not understand whether it was openly open against him or not. The activist said that he was interviewed and he gave certain explanations. The subscription of the loss of leave was not taken from him.

On September 7, 2016, an unknown in the civilian who called himself a police officer, in the presence of many witnesses in broad daylight, attacked Movenko at a large shopping center, complaining about the icons on the activist’s bicycle. The patrol policemen did not try to detain the criminal, who continued to stand nearby all the time after their arrival. At the same time, he never demonstrated the policeman certificates. Also, the patrols did not free the hands of Movenko, who lay on the ground in the blood.
The arrived ambulance took the victim to the hospital; He was accompanied by the police. Among the injuries diagnosed with the activist were open craniocerebral injury, a concussion, a fracture of the base of the skull, a jaw fracture, closed fracture of the nasal bones, and contusion of the eyeball. In October, it was reported that Movenko needs an operation to correct the nasal septum. Doctors also recommended that he undergo treatment with a neurologist and dentist.
The prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, working in Kyiv, opened a case of an attack on Movenko. The case is qualified under part 2 of Article 161 (violation of the equality of citizens with the use of violence; from two to five years of colony) and part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism; up to five years of restriction of freedom). Meanwhile, the TFR did not initiate an attack .
Instead, the CPE issued a protocol on Movenko himself, improving him part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Russian Administrative Code (public demonstration of extremist symbolism) for the Azov emblem on a bicycle. On September 22, the judge of the Gagarinsky district court of Sevastopol, Valentin Noretz, controlled the activist by 2 thousand rubles. On November 7, the judge of the Sevastopol City Court Tatyana Artamonova left this decision in force , rejecting Movenko's appeal.
