The Prosecutor's Office of the Industrial District of Smolensk issued warnings to two activists. One for the creation of a Vkontakte group dedicated to an anti-corruption rally, the second for raising money for leaflets and banners for a protest action. This was reported on April 7 by Readovka.ru.
According to the publication, on March 20, the city administration received an application from the organizer of an anti-corruption rally in Smolensk to hold a rally in front of the Oktyabr cinema, and on the 23rd he received a written refusal. At the same time, another activist created and administered an event group on VKontakte about the rally. “ In this online community, its participants openly call for a protest action on March 26, 2017, despite the refusal of the Administration of Smolensk to approve the event , ” the prosecutor’s office notes.
In the group, the organizer of the rally posted a message about raising funds for leaflets and banners for the rally. and according to the publication, his parents did not let him to the rally itself.
If the warned once again violate the procedure for organizing a rally, they will be held liable under the administrative article of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, march or picket,” prosecutors say.
