I will say a little about his chances in the region, where the PPRF positions are strong at the end of the real text. But before the departed.

In connection with the resignation of Leonid Markelov, I am not interested in the statements of people who did not know him personally. The judgments of these are formed from the outside, opinions are imposed by others. Also, they cannot inspire trust in him. It was precisely serving - without any attempts to object even on outright tyranny. It seems to me that the observations of those who had to or who had the courage to enter the conflict are especially valuable when the importance of the issue did not imply compromises. Do we hear, do we find out that the former mayor of Volzhsk Nikolai Svistunov, former Minister of Culture Mari El Viktor Nikolaev, the long -suffering persistent head of Mari Ears, Vladimir Kozlov and others, are now thinking? Well, those who on this basis left us for a while, will no longer hear.

The courts over me, according to two statements by Mr. Markelov, lasted more than two years. The prosecution asked for three years of imprisonment. The punishment turned out to be triple: a conditional term - six months, a cash fine and the publication of a refutation in Mari Pravda. Sixteen years of Markelov’s reign affected not only on my fate - but both the daughter and one of the sons. By a strange coincidence, right now, a few days ago, I received the news that my case in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), sent there in March 2008, is finally considered. I believe that soon I have to tell about this in more detail.

One of my most faithful friends, successful and less injured, often tells me: “Yes, pity you. He is already unhappy, ”and gives examples of the loneliness of“ Leonid both in power and in personal life ”. Asking to condescending, a friend probably has in mind the expected appearance of my book under the working name “Boy in the sandbox” about the times of the reign in Mari El L. Markelova. Or maybe it is based on several poetic works of social sound about the same times-the poem "evil spirits", three or four poems? Leonid does not need my pity. In indifference, except. For the first two years, he still represented a certain interest as an amazingly illogical subject: pathological revenge, including responsible evil for good (the most striking example is the mayor of Svistunov). Therefore, as a grandson of a once rather large map, already in April 2002 I clarified for myself: this sinner will finish not just badly - but very bad ...

When Leonid suddenly spoke in rhyme, and even at meetings, experts in poetry - one, then the other began to ask, recognizing my authority in local literary circles: please do the professional analysis of his so -called poems, because it is impossible to listen, read - all the more ... At first I dismissed: if the author who considers himself an educated person does not see the difference between the real poems that had to be, which had to be, which had to be. Read at least within the framework of the school curriculum, and your own virs, then there will be no sense even in the most thorough criticism. But requests were becoming more persistent. And then one incredible coincidence happened, which provoked to write a huge article, where a comparative analysis of two poetic books of novice authors was made, the difference is 30 years old. With this literary work of the spring of 2014, I even participated in the famous Crimean annual literary competition named after Voloshin. Following my principles, I gave the article to Mikhail Vinokurov, one of the leaders of the GRK “Mari El”, with a request to show Maria Mitishva so that she, if she considers necessary, gave her to one of the authors dismantled, Leonid Markelova. Many over the past 16 years talked about the neglect of Leonid to the interests of the Mari people. As the main evidence, numbers are given that indicate the weak presence of the so -called. titular nation in governing bodies. Comparative data published the other day on the three National Republics of the Volga region clearly demonstrated that the Mari's owners in the Republic of Mari El were not at all, and that the appeal of the leader of Mari Ushsh V. Kozlov in the European Parliament had serious grounds. The question, as far as I know, was discussed twice in this international organization and remains under its control.

At the post of president and further, Leonid always showed an indefatigable talent to make his enemies. Before the 2004 elections, I attempted to convince LM (talked with the head of the presidential administration D. Frolov) to pay attention to the former vice-governor of the Omsk region A. Korotkov, a native of Yoshkar-Ola, a Mari's father and a Russian mother, who, with his Moscow ties and economic knowledge, could bring considerable benefit. The proposal was rejected, as they say, from the threshold. Later, no longer having the opportunity to enter the “Gray House”, I again tried to bring the suggestive advice through the intermediary: to want to destroy the agricultural enterprise, which is the largest taxpayer, is inappropriate; To quarrel with his head I. I. Kazankov - and even the head of the local branch of the Communist Party, in the region of the "Red Belt" - is more expensive for itself; To act together is economically beneficial to the republic, politically - to him, the president. Almost sure, the one with whom he spoke did not dare to convey the request to listen to me into the presence of an authorized person. Many years ago, in a conversation with the head of the Medvedevsky district, I said about one more unpleasant habit of Markelov: he often interrupts a more experienced person to attempt to competent intervention in the conversation: “I know” or “I know”. In the early 2000s, the mayor of Volzhsk N. Yu. Svistunov drew attention to this-when Leonid had only to find out and start understanding who and what was in RME. By the way, my interlocutor immediately exclaimed: "Exactly, he loves to say so ..."

By the middle of the spring of 2001, that is, three months after Leonid’s accession, I have accumulated enough his statements, including for a narrow circle of persons in order to worry about the future of the republic. And my friend, known at that time, went to Nizhny Novgorod in his car to his car to the President of Russia in his car. Understanding that Sergei Kiriyenko is unlikely to force, we, as they say, took with us the former fellow soldier of his deputy G. S. Petrov, which he, my namesake, was really delighted. The details of the conversation with him were so interesting (in some ways unexpected) that upon the return he published in one of the opposition newspapers (yes, they were then!) An article in a whole lane. By the way, it is stored for me. The fact of the meeting and the content of the conversation on the same day became known to Markelov. And we, simple-minded, wanted only that the “young president” of the National Republic would be neatly corrected until he broke firewood.

The vicissitudes with construction in Yoshkar-Ola, the treatment of budget funds, a well-known forest fire, etc.-all these are now topics for public discussion, and not just material for competent law enforcement agencies. But let the manufacture of publications on data and other topics deal with more informed, much more interested people - infringed, injured. When changing the authorities, a short -term opportunity often appears to speak publicly, complain, and appeal to the public and the new government.
Will it be sure to dig in this direction? It's hard to say. It is unlikely that sent from the outside. Most likely to be put forward and chosen from their own. However, options are possible. Nothing remains before the elections, and you can defeat the unknown to anyone here by the candidate only by an unprecedented interference in the course of the campaign - administration, neglect of elected law. If by then the temporarily executing, finding the right words and committing the expected actions, will arrange the majority, including the main political opponent, then everything will be, as always.
