A third of the Greeks in 2016 did not pay taxes

In 2016, every third resident of Greece did not pay any taxes due to low income. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the newspaper "VIMA".

According to the Ministry of Finance of Greece, which leads Vima, 8.6 million declarations were submitted in the country last year, 31.8% of the Greeks, according to documents, did not pay any taxes.

Every tenth taxpayer announced income below € 20 thousand. In total, the Greeks announced € 74.2 billion income over the past year.

In 2015, this amount was € 73.9 billion, however, the average income decreased by 1.1%, and the average tax increased by 3%.

In March, it was reported that due to high taxes, the Greeks refuse the inheritance. In 2016, 55 thousand real estate objects transferred to the state property.
