The US Permanent Representative to the UN Nikki Haley in an interview with CNN said that if necessary, the American military will be able to re -apply missile strikes on Syria.
“If he [US President Donald Trump] will need more, he will do more,” Haley said, answering the question of possible new missile strikes.
She added that "today everything really depends on how everyone reacts to what happened in Syria." In her opinion, it is necessary to start "moving towards the political settlement of the conflict, as well as establish the world."
The Permanent Representative explained that the United States has several priority tasks in Syria: the removal of the President of Syria Bashar al -Assad from the authorities, the struggle against the Islamic State, as well as the weakening of the influence of Iran.
On April 7, the United States produced 59 airbase missiles in Homs, as a result of which 10 people were killed . The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that only 23 flew out of all missiles to the Syrian base.
The missile shelling was a response to a chemical attack in Idlib. The incident occurred on April 4, then 70 people died. The American side considers Assad’s troops responsible for the attack. According to Russia, the incident occurred due to a projectile entering the warehouse of chemical weapons of militants.
