Earlier on Monday, his friend Irina Zubova announced the death of a military man. “On April 9, while performing a combat mission in Syria, the son of my beautiful friend Zavidny Igor Yuryevich died. Tomorrow the mother will bring the coffin with her son to the city for burial. The kingdom of heaven is for the hero, ” Zubova wrote on her Facebook page.

In March, it became known that at least a dozen fighters of the Russian private military company (PMC) Wagner had died in Syria since the beginning of 2017. The investigation was conducted by the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT).

In particular, the authors of the investigation found that Aleksey Nainodin (according to various sources, on January 31 or February 1), Roman Rudenko and Konstantin Zadorozhny (presumably on January 31), Ivan Slyshkin (February 12), Vasily Yurlin (February 20) died in Syria , Alexander Sagaydak (presumably died at the end of February, the exact date is unknown).

During the Russian operation in Syria, the Ministry of Defense officially recognized the death of 27 servicemen.
