Navalny was released after being arrested at an anti-corruption rally on March 26

Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny was released from a pre-trial detention center after 15 days of arrest imposed on him after the anti-corruption action “Dimon will answer,” reports . Radio Liberty

Despite the fact that Navalny, like many other opposition activists, was kept in the second Moscow special detention center, he was released from the Konkovo ​​police station. Information about this was confirmed by the politician’s press secretary Kira Yarmysh and the head of his campaign headquarters Leonid Volkov.

At the exit from the special detention center, Alexei Navalny was expected by his supporters and his wife Yulia, as well as journalists and unknown young people with posters about the oppositionist allegedly promising compensation of 10 thousand euros for detention during anti-corruption rallies.

The decision to arrest Navalny was made by the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow on March 27. The basis for the politician’s arrest was not “violation of the established procedure for organizing” a mass event (for which he also received a fine of 20 thousand rubles), but “disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer.”

On April 6, the European Parliament condemned the actions of the Russian police aimed at detaining Navalny and other participants in the protests that took place in Russia on March 26 and April 2. European MPs also demanded the “immediate release” of all prisoners for participation in these unauthorized mass demonstrations.
