The Start site will present an exhibition of work from Karamel

From April 13 to May 14, at the Start -Military Arts site, the Winzavod Center “Karamel” of the artist Ivan Khryashchikov, who is studying the plastic properties of confectionery caramel, will be held at the Winzavod Center.

The exhibition will become the debut of Ivan Khryashchikov as an artist. “The confectioner by education, he was engaged in copyright cakes, went to exhibitions and contests, until Karamel became interested in. - the organizers report. - The release of craft occurred at one of the Berlin confectionery exhibitions. Instead of traditional sugar flowers, Ivan Khryashchikov presented the public with a black column from caramel with the inscription "Each time you copy someone else's work, without bringing anything of it, a particle of your soul dies." The experiment did not receive universal approval, but after this experience, Ivan seriously thought about doing contemporary art. ”

In the collection of Ivan Khryashchikov there is caramel in glass, wood and porcelain. The bends that it accepts when heated, cracks in its structure, reminded the artist with space objects.

At the Start site, he will create his own model of the universe. In addition to the objects at the exhibition, a video will be presented in which the color caramel is transformed under the radio signals of the planets.

“Ivan Khryashchikov independently discovered the unusual properties of the well -known material: in the process of studying this medium, he created individual mythology, a kind of“ caramel cosmogony ”,” says Kirill Preobrazhensky, curator of the exhibition.
