The other day, Vladimir Putin once again reminded the Russians of the dashing nineties. An excursion into the latest history was the answer to the question of the appropriateness of censorship on the Internet. Society in the nineties was immature, the president made it clear, so people accepted the freedom for permissiveness. The same thing is happening now with the Internet. The president’s explanation probably arranged an audience of the ONF media forum “Truth and Justice”, where the discussion took place. And at the same time, many Russians in whom those times do not cause anything but bad associations.
The return to the 1990s as the reference point was one of the favorite receptions of the president. For example, the most emotional part of the interview, which Putin gave to TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov for the documentary “President”, is devoted to them. Putin judges the era from the height of the followed achievements. At the same time, however, in the hope of refreshing the memory of the Russians, the owner of the Kremlin often describes not quite what was in reality - in other words, says half a truth.
