Washington allowed "additional" blows to Syria

US President Donald Trump is ready to “additional” blows to Syria in the event of a new use of chemical weapons in the country, the White House spokeswoman Sean Spaiser said, Reuters reports.

“If we see such actions again [chemical attacks in Syria], we will be open to further decisions,” Spicer said.

He also added that the fight against the Islamic State and terrorism is priority for Trump's policy.

On the morning of April 7, the United States carried out a massive missile blow to the air base in Homs in response to a chemical attack in Idlib on April 4, as a result of which more than 70 people died. According to the American authorities, the troops of the President of Syria Bashar al -Assad are responsible for the attack.

Syria authorities called the US actions an act of aggression. In the Kremlin, the attack was regarded as “aggression against a sovereign state <...> under a far -fetched pretext,” and the Russian Foreign Ministry suspended the agreement with the United States on ensuring the safety of aviation flights over Syria.

The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that out of 59 missiles, only 23 flew to the target, while the runway, the roll track and airplanes in the parking lots were not damaged. The Pentagon later said that only one rocket did not reach the goal due to the malfunction.
