The founder of USM Holdings, Alisher Usmanov, handed over the land and mansion to the Sotsgosproekt fund in exchange for another plot for his sister. The businessman said this in an interview with the newspaper Vedomosti.

According to Usmanov, his sister Gulbakhor Burkhanov, after the death of her parents, wanted to live closer to him. The head of the Sotsgosproekt Foundation Ilya Eliseev, close to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, told the businessman about the development project on the border with his site. “I have long been looking for the opportunity to expand my site where I have been living for more than 20 years, and therefore I proposed to exchange their plot - 12 hectares - for a section of my sister in the distance from me and with a finished house,” said Usmanov.

Usmanov again rejected all the accusations of the head of the Foundation for the fight against corruption of Alexei Navalny addressed to him and confirmed that he would file a lawsuit against him to protect honor and dignity.

He claims that I allegedly participated in privatization transactions and made my condition on this. In reality, all assets were bought in the secondary market. At the same time, I only paid more than 400 million dollars of taxes in Russia,” Utinov said in an interview.

Meanwhile, Navalny himself called the statements of Usmanov a lie. According to official documents, Usmanov bought the land adjacent to his estate from commercial companies LLC Lesnoy House and LLC Group East Invest. Usmanov presented the estate in Znamensky, as noted in the investigation of the FBK. “And there is nothing in common between these two transactions except that both of them were committed in 2010,” Navalny noted.

According to the FBK, published in early March, several charitable foundations related to people from Medvedev’s close circle received money and suburban estates from Usmanov.

Usmanov takes third place in the ranking of 200 richest businessmen of Russia according to Forbes. The publication estimates its condition of $ 12.5 billion. In October 2016, Usmanov ceased to be a tax resident of Russia.
